A half-Hawaiian, half-Spanish, half-Italian, half-Filipino, K. Stevens is 4'6" of sarcasm and introverted weirdness. She enjoys time spent communing with local flora and fauna. She hopes to one day be considered one of the greats in literature, but will settle for people at least knowing her name.

Interview:
1. Where do you get your ideas?
Anywhere. Everywhere. Family and friends are great character fodder, but I also actively daydream. I’m like Alice, pre-Wonderland. Turns out you can learn a lot of things from the flowers…
2. Do you have a dream cast for your book?
Not really. The nerd in me would love to see Suzie Plakson play Jules, but otherwise I don’t have a cast in mind.
3. How do you handle writer’s block?
I don’t. I navigate it. Sometimes right into a wall. Usually I just let the characters tell me what the story is. If I’m really stuck I write in an explosion or monster or some other random terrifying event and watch the result. Thankfully I haven’t had to use that technique in a while…I’m able to just keep writing.
4. What inspired you to write this book?
My first one, haha. ‘Olyvia’ (my first book) was a tribute to my father, as we had been working on it together before he passed away. I felt it was a good way to honor him by finishing it. A few people read it, and their next question to me was: “Where’s the next one?”
…So I answered their question and wrote “Jules”.
5.What’s the hardest part of being an author?
So far, any part that isn’t writing. I can do the writing part. Everything else I’m…I’m still working on.
