Interview:
1. Where do you get your ideas?
My ideas come from nightmares or dreams, things I see in real life and get to wondering about, the news, and sometimes they just hit me.
2. Do you have a dream cast for the characters from McKinley Mystery series?
I’ve never actually given much thought to casting my books, although, I’d love to have my books made into movies. I think I’d just leave the casting to the pros. J
3. How do you handle writer’s block?
I don’t really believe in writer’s block. I believe writers can get stressed out and have this cramp their creativity. When this has happened to me, I’ve found that it’s usually because I’m trying to force my idea onto a story. This can happen when I’m feeling overwhelmed by life in general or when I decide I want to create an outline—even a brief one. Outlines do not work for me. I write organically and then edit like mad. LOL
4. What inspired you to write the McKinley Mystery series?
The old television show Hart to Hart inspired this series. I wanted a couple who were deeply in love and who had the means and ability to solve murders. I also wanted to them to be people everyone loved.
5.What’s the hardest part of being an author?
I’d have to say the hardest part is the hours. LOL I often get up before the sun even on the weekends.
