Review: The Chronicles of Eden

26/8/2015

Okay... where to begin..

It starts off fairly well, with the Earth in the throes of the 3rd World War. Luckily the Earth has got escape ships and tons of people evacuate to a new planet.. so far... so good. However, once that prologue is over, we shunt forward a few hundred years or so and the planet of Eden which is on the brink of war thanks to some zealots or something.
The main character, whose name I have forgotten because he made that much of an impression, is a soldier working for some continent or other and fighting some other continent when guys in cloaks start trying to kill him and the conveniently orphaned cute chick that he meets.

Why is any of this is happening? I have no clue. What are the main characters motivations? I have no clue... Why is the world split into Catholicism and Zoroastrian (kinda) religious types... I have no clue.

It really is that bland and dull with zero world building. Apparently they got to Eden and banned all tech.. or summat like that. Why? Something about the end of Earth but people cheated and whatnot. I couldn't tell you a thing about the world, the characters, the history, it is that bland and dull and just unmemorable.

I could go on, but I don't want to start ranting at this bland bit of literature.
