Before you can say spell battle, Catherine high tails it up the coast of California to clear her head. Lucky for her, she finds an Aussie hitchhiker. She's going to have to face her husband in the awaiting spell battle. Can she have a little fun with her newfound boy toy, or will he get scorched in the foreplay?
But nothing turns out as you think. Catherine runs to Las Vegas with Jeff finding her feelings for him the saving grace from the dangers of Las Vegas. Confused between her husband cheating and a new addition to her heart, she will have to choose between the two of them. Interview
Where do you get your ideas?
I get my ideas from a lot of places. Often, I’ll have a dream and wake up in the middle in time to write it down. The beginning of Never Marry A Warlock came from a dream. I also get inspired from participating at Renaissance faires. It’s great to dress up as a character and get a first hand feel for things to include in descriptions. Other ideas come from watching TV and music videos. I have playlists that get me into the mood and help my concentration.
Do you have a dream cast for your book?
I imagined Jeff like Chris Hemsworth from Thor. Catherine I often imagine as myself sometimes, but I’d want her to have a harder edge. Maybe Dakota Johnson would be my dream cast for her.
How do you handle writer’s block?
I’ve got a couple strategies that help me. First, I stay in a routine so I have regular times that I write during the day. I also have different projects I rotate into my writing times so I don’t get burned out on one. I go with the project my muse feels like writing for the day.
What inspired you to write this book?
It was a dream. I woke up in the middle of a spell battle, hitting the man from the bed with a spell through a window and into a pool. My waking mind kept going and I wanted to see what happened. By the time I woke up and had my coffee, my conscious mind had taken over and I was finishing the scene. I wanted to see what happened. I was hooked from there. I needed to finish it. It became my new writing obsession. That’s how the Beware of Warlocks series was born.
What’s the hardest part of being an author?
Waiting. I do a lot of that. Waiting for book releases. Waiting for responses from editors or beta readers before I can work on a project. In between the waiting, I write. It keeps me sane.
